Job Title: Director of Reimbursement & Regulatory Compliance

About the Role:
We’re seeking a Director of Reimbursement & Regulatory Compliance to oversee Medicare and Medicaid cost reporting, manage Disproportionate Share Hospital (DSH) funding, and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations for a Sole Community Rural Hospital and its provider-based clinics. This role is vital in developing financial strategies to optimize reimbursement.
Key Responsibilities:
Reimbursement & Financial Reporting:
Prepare and analyze Medicare and Medicaid cost reports.
Maintain Sole Community Hospital (SCH) designation and manage DSH reporting.
Oversee rural health clinic (RHC) billing compliance and financial modeling.
Regulatory Compliance:
Monitor federal and state regulatory changes affecting reimbursement.
Ensure compliance with Medicare Bad Debt reporting and other regulations.
Audit & Risk Management:
Serve as the point of contact for cost report and Medicaid DSH audits.
Implement internal controls to reduce financial risks.
Collaboration:
Work closely with hospital leadership, finance, and compliance teams.
Provide education on reimbursement trends and compliance requirements.
Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in healthcare reimbursement, finance, or compliance (rural hospital setting preferred).
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or Economics.
Knowledge of rural hospital funding models and Medicaid programs.
